Again, it lasted me 8 years of daily use (and misuse in the beginning), and is now being used by another beginner. If you get a plastic student model to begin with, you will eventually want to get something better anyways. For a few hundred bucks, you can get a new plastic Yamaha.or, for about the same amount you can get a used Buffet E11, which will sound much better. You’ll be lucky if the keys don’t fall off the first time you play it.
You CAN get a $100 clarinet off Amazon.but it will be more trouble than it’s worth. Student models- the problem with them is that many are plastic, and plastic clarinets simply will not be able to play as well as a wood clarinet, in my opinion. This way, if the student quits band, it’s not a huge financial problem. It’s the horn I recommend for beginners, especially since a lot of Music stores in my area do a rent-to-own program.
